French container carrier CMA CGM will make two medium-term adjustments to its global shipping services facing congestion in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The LIBERTY BRIDGE Service from North Europe to the US East Coast will omit the Port of Savannah, Georgia, in early 2022 due to ongoing congestion. Earlier in November German shipping line Hapag-Lloyd also omitted the Port of Savannah.
The liner will omit seven calls between 25 December and 5 February, inviting shippers to book cargo to Charleston at SC Ports instead.
The full revised service involves: Southampton – Antwerp – Rotterdam – Bremerhaven – Le Havre – New York – Norfolk – Charleston – Southampton.
CMA CGM has also extended suspension of Le Havre and Puerto Angamos calls until end of March 2022 on the EUROSAL service connecting North Europe with West Coast South America and the Caribbean.
“Unfortunately, the situation has not improved with heavy congestion and lack of productivity,” the line wrote.
The EUROSAL service will extend the suspension of Le Havre and Puerto Angamos calls for La Havre until m/v “CALLAO EXPRESS” including the 28 March Antwerp call; and omit Puerto Angamos calls until m/v “COSCO SHIPPING VOLGA” including 28 March Puerto Angamos call.
The updated rotation schedule involves: Rotterdam – London Gateway – Hamburg – Antwerp – Caucedo – Cartagena – Manzanillo – Buenaventura – Posorja – Callao – San Antonio – Callao – Posorja – Manzanillo – Cartagena – Caucedo – Rotterdam.
