CMA CGM rebrands recently bought New York terminals

CMA CGM has officially renamed the two terminals in New York and New Jersey, which it purchased from Global Container Terminals (GCT) earlier this year.

The French company introduced the rebranded “Port Liberty,” formerly known as GCT Bayonne and New York, during a launch event in Manhattan, New York.

The two terminals will now be referred to as “Port Liberty New York” and “Port Liberty Bayonne.”

The shipping company has also invested $600 million into the two facilities, incorporating the latest technologies. This is projected to create 1,000 union jobs, according to CMA CGM.

CMA CCM stated on a social media post: “Port Liberty New York and Port Liberty Bayonne on the East Coast, together with FMS on the West Coast now rank as CMA CGM’s flagship terminals in North America. They will enable us to provide a better service offering to our customers.”

In September 2023, CMA CGM announced it is revising the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) applicable to all cargo from/to Manaus, Brazil.

More recently, CMA CGM Air Cargo has announced the opening of a new scheduled route between Paris (CDG) and Cairo (CAI).
