CMA CGM reshuffles Mediterranean short sea route

CMA CGM reshuffles service linking Malta, Western Italy, Sicily, Malta, Algeria

CMA CGM’s Short Sea Lines Division has reshuffled the Tyrrex 2 service from Malta to Western Italy, Sicily, Malta, and Algeria.

According to the company, this revised weekly service starting from Malta on 24 January 2024 will enable to maintain a sustainable maritime bridge between Malta, Tyrrhenian Coast and Algeria.

The new Tyrrex 2 service features a fleet with three vessels and 1,100 TEU nom.

The port rotation will have a weekly frequency and will rotate as follows:

Malta – Civitavecchia – Livorno – Napoli – Salerno – Malta – Catania – Annaba – Trapani – Malta

This month, CMA CGM’s Short Sea Lines Division announced the reshuffling/merger of its TMX 3 and ADRINAF services between Turkey, Adriatic, Malta, and Libya, effective Week 2.

Additionally, CMA CGM and Air France-KLM announced that they would resign from their current agreements due to regulatory constraints.
