A commercial Indian ship carrying commercial goods caught fire in the waters of the Port of Aden in Yemen’s Southern part.
It has been reported that the incident happened in the early night hours of 11 April.
An anonymous local official said that a fire engulfed the engine room.
The seven sailors on board were rescued by the local authorities, although the source confirmed that some of the sailors were injured and moved to a nearby hospital for treatment in Aden.
A firefighting squad has been dispatched to the site.
According to the official, the Indian ship was: “Carrying various kinds of foodstuffs and heading to the port of Berbera in Somalia,” adding that the causes of the incident were still unknown.
