Contargo Industriepark Frankfurt-Höchst (Contargo) has announced that its rail offer has expanded with a new container train connection between Frankfurt and Antwerp.
The first Frankfurt–Antwerp Shuttle departed on 4 April and it will operate with a fixed schedule and one round trip per week every Monday.
This will enable the container hinterland logistics network to provide more flexible transport options across Frankfurt and western ports.
“With the Frankfurt–Antwerp Shuttle, we offer shippers from the region and adjoining areas an excellent alternative for accessing the Port of Antwerp”, said Kawus Khederzadeh, Managing Director of Contargo.
“The connection makes sense both economically and ecologically, and it is a good complement to our combined transport by barge.”
Contargo has also increased frequency of its rail connection to Rotterdam (Frankfurt–Rotterdam Shuttle) from two to three round trips per week.
Earlier this year, Contargo North France won the Europe-wide tender for extension of operations of a Ports de l’Escaut container terminal.
