The Yangpu International Container Terminal has achieved the Q1 2022 throughput target of 361,800 TEU, an increase of 138,000 TEU.
COSCO Shipping Corporation (COSCO) has posted container volume figures for its Yangpu International in the first quarter of 2022 – seeing a 61.67 per cent increase year-on-year.
Last year, Yangpu International handled 1 million TEU for the first time since the port opened in 2016.
On 14 November the terminal reached the milestone achievement for yearly handling, experiencing a 39 per cent year-on-year growth out of which the volume of foreign trade containers increased by 60 per cent.
Despite disruptions across the supply chain brought by COVID-19, container volumes have recently soared in China reaching 67.4 million TEU in the period of January to March 2022, a year-on-year increase of 2.4 per cent.
