DP World Southampton has achieved a new record in container handling for the second week in a row.
The port’s team has set a new record in the number of moves completed by the Hapag-Lloyd AG vessel Al NEFUD in just 88 hours, totalling 9,416 moves.
This comes only a week after they broke the previous record set by the MOL TRUTH two years ago by 13 per cent.
“This outstanding performance is testament to our new 10 crane operating model, which enables us to use 10 cranes on every shift, whilst continuing to service other customers at the same time,” commented Ernst Schulze, CEO of DP World UK.
“As the most productive port in the UK, we are committed to driving higher performance to help us turnaround our customers’ vessels as quickly and safely as possible, and I am delighted to see that our team’s efforts are driving mutual success.”
