Invitalia and the Port System of Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea have signed an agreement to bolster infrastructure at the Port of Trieste.

In the initial phase, Invitalia will manage, as the Central Purchasing Center, the contracts for the award of technical services functional to the design of a first group of interventions.

The projects are financed with €140 million ($160 million) from Italy’s Recovery Plan (PNRR) and must be completed by 2026.

The Development Agency at Invitalia will provide technical and operational support to build the infrastructure necessary to strengthen the logistics and production activities in the port area.

Invitalia will also support the System Authority for the definition, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities, as well as for any actions to strengthen administrative capacity.

The interventions, included in the Adriagateway Project for the upgrading of the port’s infrastructures, are owned by the Ministry of Infrastructures.

Earlier this month, CIRCLE Group in partnership with DFDS announced the success of first pilot test of International Fast & Secure Trade Lane between the Ports of Trieste and Pendik.
