ELME Spreader AB, a renowned manufacturer of spreaders, is marking its 50th anniversary with ambitious plans for growth and diversification.
Based in Älmhult, Sweden, the company has steadily expanded its operations, now spanning four facilities along the same street. This growth has been fuelled by ongoing facility expansions and relentless product development efforts.
Looking ahead, the company is poised to embark on the next phase of expansion.
In the autumn of 2024, construction will commence on approximately 1,700 square metres of additional space to facilitate continued growth. This expansion aims to bolster manufacturing capacity for both existing products and upcoming launches within the truck and crane segments.
“Our investments in product development have turned out well and we can see an increased demand in Europe as well as Asia and the US,” said Gösta Karlsson, CEO
“In 2025, we are scheduling several exciting launches, and to meet future capacity needs, we are now investing in larger premises.”
While ELME Spreader AB has established a dominant position in the truck spreader market, significant resources are now being directed towards developing crane spreaders.
Recent efforts have focused on talent acquisition and investments in new machinery to enhance production efficiency.
The planned extension of one of the buildings this year reflects a strategic move to meet escalating market demands.
