Gambia Ports Authority, Prodevelop collaborate on digitalisation

The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) has contracted Prodevelop and Lasting Solutions for the implementation of Posidonia Management.

The GPA aims to improve the efficiency of the port’s internal operations and provide better service to its customers, including its concessionaires with the key tool being the Port Management Information System (PMIS): Posidonia Management.

The use of Posidonia Management is expected to benefit the Port Authority with the improvement of vessels and cargo handling processes, reducing vessel response times, strengthening security measures within GPA’s port facilities, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and standards, improving data management and reporting capabilities.

The agreement also includes technical support and maintenance service, so that the GPA will always be supported by Prodevelop and will be given corrective, preventive, evolutionary, adaptive and perfective service.

With this step, the GPA said it has equipped itself with a suite of functionalities designed to strengthen its leadership in the field while laying the groundwork for future digitalisation improvements.

Earlier in April, Prodevelop and EUROGATE Group announced a collaboration to develop a Digital Twin of processes and equipment to revolutionise the landscape of operations and maintenance in Hamburg.
