Gasum and Equinor has collaborated on a series of bio-LNG bunkering operations in the Port of Dusavik, Norway.
Gasum is bunkering ISCC-EU certified mass balanced bio-LNG for Equinor’s hired platform supply vessel, Island Crusader.
The first bio-LNG delivery was carried out successfully in mid-July. Gasum noted that it will continue to provide Island Crusader with 2-3 truckloads of bio-LNG every other week. Each truckload includes approximately 22 tonnes of bio-LNG.
The Island Crusader is equipped with battery hybrid technology, which enhances its environmental performance.

Biogas, a renewable and environmentally friendly fuel, has life-cycle GHG emissions that are, on average, 90 per cent lower than those of fossil fuels.
It can be used in all of the same applications as natural gas, such as road and maritime transportation fuel, as well as industrial energy.
Gasum’s aim is to provide 7 terrawatts (TWh) of renewable gas to its consumers per year by 2027, including biomethane and e-methane.
In September 2023, Maersk and Equinor inked an agreement to provide green methanol supply for Maersk’s new methanol-enabled feeder vessel during its initial months of operation.
