Philippines-based port operator International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) has announced the deployment of BlackBerry Cylance technology to increase cybersecurity across its global network.

ICTSI has implemented Cylance technology across all business divisions in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Exclusive Paper: Cybersecurity and the Intelligent Supply Chain

ICTSI chief information officer Brian Hibbert said, “Economies never sleep, but neither do hackers. ICTSI helps to ship goods that power economies around-the-clock, relying on sophisticated technology for the secure planning and dispatching of every container.

“Every movement must be on time and secure to deliver the level of reliability we promise, ten million times per year, 24/7. Cybersecurity is our priority at ICTSI, and why we need equally sophisticated, AI-driven-technology like BlackBerry Cylance to protect our assets.”

The solution, in addition to preventing existing and future cyber threats, will help the port company to protect thousands of end-points across its network.

To further solidify its threat prevention capabilities, ICTSI will deploy CylanceOPTICS, which will transfer all detection and response decisions to the end-point to ensure a quick response.

BlackBerry said that its CylancePROTECT solution uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to identify, avert, and block both known and unknown malware from running on end-points.

BlackBerry Cylance APAC sales vice-president Evan Davidson said: “Today, malware mutates daily, even hourly, making signature-based prevention tools obsolete.

“Together with our channel partner, NEXUS Technologies, we are proud to help ICTSI move successfully from a traditional AV model to an AI-driven, preventative approach to threat mitigation with CylancePROTECT, ensuring the company is prepared for the next generation of threats.”
