King Abdulaziz Port sets new daily throughput record

The King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam has recorded the highest daily container throughput for any port in Saudi Arabia.

The port handled a total volume of 18,020 TEU on a single vessel after the COSCO Shipping Capricorn docked at its facilities.

The vessel originated from the Far East and boasts an overall length of 400 metres and a capacity of 20,000 TEU.

According to the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI), the achievement reflects the advanced operational and logistical capabilities of King Abdulaziz Port and reaffirms its competitive edge.

In other recent news, MAWANI has signed a long-term deal with Bahri to build and operate an integrated logistics park at the Jeddah Islamic Port.

A total area of 95,436 metre-squared has been leased for the construction of this facility.

The work is also expected to boost Bahri’s partnership with MAWANI as they share the same logistics goals.
