A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk)’s global shipbroking company, Maersk Broker, has concluded a management and employee buyout from the Mc-Kinney Møller family.
The rebranding announcement was made by Maersk Broker on 29 December 2023. The Maersk subsidiary was created in 1914 and has since been privately held by the Mc-Kinney Møller family.
The ownership transition is reportedly predicated on the seller and buyer’s shared desire to maintain the company’s 110-year tradition and ensure its long-term position under a new name and ownership structure.
According to Maersk Broker, MB Shipbrokers will be the company’s new name, with no modifications to the institution’s operations.
