A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) has opened a new 30,000-square-metre facility in Tijuana, Mexico to facilitate cross-border trade.
Located in Prisma XII, Pacifico Industrial Park in Tijuana, Baja California, serves Maersk’s customers in the technology, automotive, retail and lifestyle industries that require cross-border capabilities.
The new facility sits near important commercial ports such as Los Angeles/Long Beach and Ensenada in Mexico.
It is located approximately 15 miles from the Otay Commercial Port, between Otay Mesa (San Diego, US) and Otay Centenario (Tijuana, Mexico). It is also 20 miles from the San Ysidro Commercial Port, which connects San Ysidro, California, with Tijuana.

Alternatively, it could operate fulfilment or e-fulfilment operations in the US, leveraging the Section 321 Shipment Type for e-commerce shipments.
The new warehouse is LEED Gold certified, including rooftop solar panels, 100 per cent electric material handling equipment, LED lighting, heat island reduction, interior and outdoor water consumption reduction, and a waste management system.
