Maersk Line, part of Maersk Group, and MacGregor, part of Cargotec, have agreed to cooperate on the development of the next generation of container securing systems.
MacGregor and Maersk have cooperated in securing systems since containership sizes began to grow from feeder size to the current ultra-large containerships.
Leif Byström, Senior Vice President of the Cargo Handling Division at MacGregor, said: “We are very happy to be able to extend our cooperation in the development of our container securing systems.
“I am convinced that this will benefit both parties, as the ship sizes continue to grow with increasing efficiency requirements.”
Ole Graa Jakobsen, Vice President and Head of Technical Operations at Maersk Line, said: “MacGregor has a long history as a leading supplier of container securing systems.
“We are committed to offering our customers competitive ocean transportation, and extending our cooperation with MacGregor will contribute to our continued success in this.”
As the largest shipping line in the world, Maersk Line operates a total fleet capacity of more than three million TEU, representing more than a 15% share of the global container trade.
