This partnership is part of MAWANI’s initiatives to set up world-class logistics facilities within and outside port areas, in a bid to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub.
In addition, MAWANI’s strategy aims to offer best-in-class logistics services to fulfil the Kingdom’s national development plans.
Jeddah Islamic Port is currently undergoing a wave of extensive transformations to upgrade its operations and capacity through development projects and concessions aimed at improving the operational efficiency of container terminals.
Jeddah Islamic Port receives 75 per cent of the Kingdom’s maritime trade and transshipment volumes.
Most recently, MAWANI and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) signed a Service-Level Agreement (SLA) to improve operations at Jeddah Islamic Port.
The deal, which will soon be rolled out across other ports, will be instrumental in supporting the Fasah importing and exporting platform in addition to streamlining operational efficiency and boosting competitiveness at Saudi ports.
