MAWANI unveils Emirates Shipping Line's new service

The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) has announced the addition of Emirates Shipping Line’s new shipping service ‘GRC’ to Jeddah Islamic Port.

The new shipping route connects Jeddah Islamic Port to the ports of Jebel Ali in the UAE, Abqa in Jordan, and Sokhna in Egypt, with a capacity of 2,550 TEUs.

According to MAWANI, the Jeddah Islamic Port has 62 multi-purpose berths, a logistics services area for depositing and re-exporting goods, and a direct truck transportation system to and from the port.

Furthermore, the port has a number of specialised stations and advanced equipment, including two container handling stations with a handling capacity of 7.5 million TEUs, two general cargo stations, two ship repair and marine maintenance docks, a group of marine services berths from Qatar, and marine guidance, with a capacity of 130 million tonnes.

In August, MAWANI and Maersk announced the launch of the Middle East’s biggest Maersk Logistics Park at Jeddah Islamic Port.

Two months later, MAWANI, Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), and HPC Hamburg Port Consulting (HPC) partnered to boost innovation in port operations, infrastructure development, and workforce skills.
