NWSA container volume spikes 33 per cent in November

The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) has reported that its total international container volume for November 2024 has increased 32.9 per cent over the same month last year.

Full international import volumes increased by 24.2 per cent, marking the ninth consecutive month of growth.

Full international exports increased 24.1 per cent. Total container volume (international and domestic) for the month reached 290,210 TEUs, growing 25.7 per cent compared to November 2023.

Year-to-date (YTD), volumes are up 12 per cent over last year to 3 million TEU, with full imports increasing 18.3 per cent and full exports growing 9.6 per cent.

Domestic container volumes declined 1.2 per cent compared to YTD 2023. Alaska volumes decreased 0.3 per cent, and Hawaii volumes decreased 6.2 per cent.

Earlier this summer, the Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) won the best-performing port on the West Coast at the Logistics Management’s 41st Annual Quest for Quality Awards.
