The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) has announced that total international container volume in October 2024 grew 1.7 per cent over the same month previous year.
Full foreign import volume climbed by 6.9 per cent, marking the seventh consecutive month of growth.
Total overseas shipments fell 13.4 per cent. Total container volume (international and domestic) for the month was 273,355 TEUs, down 0.5 per cent from October 2023.

Year to date (YTD), volumes are up 10.7 per cent to 2.74 million TEUs, with complete imports up 17.7 per cent and full exports up 8 per cent.
Domestic container shipments down 1.3 per cent from year-to-date (YTD) 2023. Volumes declined by 0.1 per cent in Alaska and 7.6 per cent in Hawaii.
In September, NWSA announced that full imports reached their greatest level since the pandemic, with seven consecutive months of increase.
