ONE suspends Red Sea service amid the ongoing crisis

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced that the Asia Red Sea 1 (AR1) service would be temporarily suspended due to recent developments around the Red Sea.

The move is a proactive step towards prioritising the safety of its crew, vessels, and customers’ cargo, according to ONE.

The Japanese shipping company stated that the suspension is a precautionary measure due to security concerns in the region.

ONE noted that it is monitoring the situation and will restart the AR1 service as soon as it is safe to operate vessels in the region again.

Given the interim suspension, the company assured that it has many alternate routes in place to guarantee that services to the Red Sea regions continue.

This month, ONE signed several Ship Building Contracts with Jiangnan Shipyard and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for the construction of 12 methanol dual-fuel containerships.

Additionally, ONE announced a service update to its Adriatic Service (AIB) in the Mediterranean region.
