Ocean Network Express (ONE), the container shipping alliance formed between Japanese liners MOL, NYK and K Line, has officially taken delivery of the ‘ONE Cygnus’, its latest 14,000 TEU vessel and last in the series of seven new builds that began in June 2018.
According to a statement, the vessel is equipped with outstanding safety and environmentally-friendly capabilities, such as structural arrest technology and highly efficient welding functionalities.

Furthermore, it employs a hull form that optimizes cargo-loading efficiency, which is achieved by minimizing engine-room space.

It also has excellent structural safety due to what ONE calls Crack Arrest Technology, the vessel is equipped with world’s first ‘dual rating system’ technology in its main diesel engine, which allows for operational flexibility and a significant cut in carbon dioxide emissions.
As well as that, its navigation bridge adopted the Integrated Navigation System (INS), which consolidates functions of vessel systems to efficiently reduce the workload of operators.
Once operational, the vessel will be deployed on the Asia to Europe (FE3) service under THE Alliance, of which ONE is a member, calling Hong Kong, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Yantian, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, London Gateway, Singapore and Hong Kong.
