The containership ONE Modern has arrived in Jacksonville, marking the start of Ocean Network Express’s (ONE) new West India-North America (WIN) container service.
The service is the Jacksonville Port Authority’s (JAXPORT) first direct container service to the Indian subcontinent.
The WIN service makes weekly stops at the port’s Blount Island terminal, establishing four new port connections connecting Jacksonville, Florida, India, and Pakistan. SSA Atlantic provides stevedoring services on Blount Island.
The port rotation is as follows: Bin Qasim, Pakistan; Hazira, Nhava Sheva, and Mundra in India; New York; Savannah; Jacksonville; Charleston; Norfolk; and back to Bin Qasim.
ONE Senior Vice President, Product & Network, Dan Sheehy, said: “The WIN Service offers our valued customers a weekly routing from Nhava Sheva and Mundra to the US East Coast. This new service to JAXPORT demonstrates ONE’s commitment to this important and growing market, providing reliability and flexibility to our customers.”

JAXPORT CEO, Eric Green, stated: “The WIN service enhances Jacksonville’s capabilities as an international seaport and expands our connections in the region, which is a key market for us.
“As we further diversify our trade lanes around the world, the service opens up new opportunities for manufacturers in Florida and throughout the Southeast US to efficiently reach a market that is becoming increasingly important to global trade.”
The service is provided by a fleet of nine ONE vessels, each having a capacity of 7,000 TEU. Consumer and retail products such as electronics, solar panels, perishable foods, textiles, and clothes are reportedly among the most important commodities.
