COSCO SHIPPING Lines launched paperless cargo release service at Huangpu Xinsha Terminal, creating a new mode of foreign trade import operations for barge transportation on the Pearl River.

This is another solution adopted by a terminal of Guangzhou Port after the extensive promotion of blockchain-based paperless cargo release at Nansha Phase II Terminal.

COSCO SHIPPING Lines has been working together with Guangzhou Port Group to further integrate multiple business links with the blockchain platform through paperless bill exchange and on the basis of electronic container pick-up service realized at Huangpu Xinsha Terminal.

Through these efforts, they have enabled the barge-based foreign trade import business in the Pearl River region to leap from paper to blockchain and provide online self-service of cargo release and container pick-up for import customers holding sea waybills and telex release bills of lading, with the entire operational process becoming more visible, efficient, and risk-controlled.

Earlier in June COSCO SHIPPING SPE. signed an agreement to enter the blockchain-based Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN).
