Pilbara Ports delivered a total monthly throughput of 66.2 million tonnes (Mt) in December 2024.
The Port of Port Hedland had a monthly throughput of 48.3 million tonnes, with iron ore exports accounting for 47.6 million. This represented a 4 per cent drop in overall throughput from December 2023.
Imports through the Port of Port Hedland reached 197,000 tonnes, a 10 per cent drop from December 2023.

The Port of Dampier achieved a total throughput of 16Mt, a 6 per cent increase over December 2023.
Imports through the Port of Dampier reached 84,000 tonnes, a 21 per cent drop from December 2023.
Pilbara Ports has identified numerous variables that have influenced its throughput, including market circumstances, port maintenance operations, and proponent needs.
The total throughput across all ports since 1 July 2024 is 387.5Mt.
