Port of Vancouver appoints new Operations and Supply Chain VP

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has named Captain Shri Madiwal as Vice President (VP) of Operations and Supply Chain.

Madiwal offers over 30 years of expertise in marine operations and supply chain to this position.

Since joining the port authority in 2019 as Director Marine Operations and Harbour Master, he has made major contributions to the organisation and led the implementation of critical initiatives such as Active Vessel Traffic Management and supply chain optimisation.

In 2008, Madiwal transitioned his career to shore-based roles, working in a diverse range of Canadian shipping projects including ship management, ferry operations and shipbuilding.  

Madiwal has been acting Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain at the port authority since December 2023.

Recently, the Port of Vancouver reported stable cargo volumes in the first half of 2024, down less than 1 per cent from the same time a year earlier.
