Portchain has announced that the Port of London Container Terminal has signed a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) agreement with Portchain Quay.
This announcement comes on 19 January.
This partnership is for Portchain Quay to create reliable berth plans in the port supported by intelligent predictions.
Portchain is looking to unlock the potential in the London Container Terminal’s quayside operations.
The Port of London Container Terminal will follow in the steps of Shekou Container Terminals who implemented Portchain Connect in December 2020 to simplify its berth alignment with shipping lines.
Portchain also announced last November a five-year partnership with Hapag-Lloyd to deploy Portchain Connect across their global operations.
“Portchain Quay will improve the planning process for both the terminal and our customers, providing intelligent real time updates to our planners and more accurate berth predictions for our customers,” said Director of Unitised, Forth Ports, Ross McKissock.
“The initial user feedback has been incredibly positive and we look forward to working with Portchain Quay to develop the solution further.”

The deployment of Portchain Quay is an important step in London Container Terminal’s digitisation journey.
This journey involves several key planning processes that will be digitised to promote real-time information exchange, transparency, and process efficiency across the terminal.
Portchain CCO & Co-Founder, Thor Thorup, said: “We are excited to collaborate with London Container Terminal and help them accelerate their digitisation journey, while providing them with vessel ETA and port stay prediction tools to optimise their operations.”
