Porto Itapoá has welcomed a new shipping route, Brazil Express (BRAZEX), from the French shipping company CMA CGM.
The service connects Brazilian ports to the Caribbean and the US, with weekly calls. Currently, Porto Itapoá already has two lines to North America in its service portfolio.
Some important connection points are Cartagena, in Colombia, Kingston, in Jamaica, Veracruz, in Mexico, and Houston and New Orleans, in the US.
“It is an important service for customers who do business in these regions, but they can also use it as a connection to other points,” explained the Director of Operations, Technology and Environment at Porto Itapoá, Sergni Pessoa Rosa Jr.
The first ship of the service to arrive in Itapoá will be the Hans Shulte, on 31 October. With a length of 277 metres and a capacity for 5,600 TEU, it sails under the Hong Kong flag.
