The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has turned over the management and operation of the Iloilo Commercial Port Complex (ICPC) to Visayas Container Terminal (VCT).
Officers from PPA, VCT, and International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) attended the ceremony together with stakeholders from Iloilo businesses and officials from the shipping line SITC.
ICTSI believes the handover marks a new chapter for the ICPC, which VCT will continue to build and improve during its 25-year concession.
In April, ICTSI gained regulatory authority to manage and expand VCT.
That same month, ICTSI upgraded its Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) with three new quay cranes to handle larger vessels.
