Port Technology International’s ongoing research and industry analysis will focus on the security risks at ports & terminals. We always value your opinion which helps us to provide even better articles and solutions for your industry. We thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
The importance of securing your port!
Port and terminal operators are growing, expanding infrastructure and developing new ports to accommodate future demand. The number of containers worldwide is expected to more than double or even triple in the next 10 years. However, this tremendous growth brings greater security challenges, risks and threats. More than 1 in 5 ports & terminals must upgrade their security to prevent threats for not just potential terrorism but more importantly weapons, illegal drugs and contraband trafficking. Thankfully due to international regulations many ports are taking advantage of technology solutions which not only secure marine environments but more importantly prevent security risks and threats. The rules of engagement and attack points are continuously changing and whilst the greatest risk may still be the open ocean, Ports and Terminals must follow and meet the new industry benchmarks and standards in order to stay and remain competitive.
Port Technology and Bronzeye, the London-based risk management and consultancy firm, have joined forces to invite the port community to take part in our business continuity/crisis management survey to analyse these risks.
